Why Austin is a Great Place to Study Film & Video
As 2004's #1 city for moviemakers according to MovieMaker Magazine, Austin is no slouch when it comes to the film and video industry. From indie hits/cult phenomena like Richard Linklater's Slacker and Christopher Guest's Waiting for Guffman to feature films with high-profile stars like What's Eating Gilbert Grape (DiCaprio) or Michael (Travolta), Austin has the drawing power required to bring in the talent and the work for those who want to break into the celluloid (or digital!) industry.
